Reported Houthi Attacks on Saudi Oil Assets Intensify Middle East Security Concerns Regional Tensions Rise as Energy Infrastructure and Shipping
Betty L. Edgemon, a resident of Dewar passed away Friday, July 25th, 2025 in Tulsa at the age of 93. She was born June 19th, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Salsman and Lily (Holder) Salsman.
She graduated from Morris High School, class of 1949. Later she married the love of her life, Boyd (Tut) Edgemon August 4, 1948. Betty loved to crochet and sew and fishing with her husband Boyd.
Besides her family, Betty’s greatest love was for God. She dedicated her self wholly and was faithful to the end. She was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church in Dewar.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Boyd (Tut) Edgemon, her adoptive parents, George & Maggie Kirkman, and her grandmother, Mary Jane Green.
Betty is survived by four children:
Steve Edgemon and wife Shelly of Okmulgee; Rick Edgemon and wife Sandy of Greenwood, Arkansas; Deidre DeLana of Dewar; Shea Martin and husband Bruce of Joshua, Texas; bonus daughters, Debbie Earhart of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Rhnea Whitworth of Henryetta, Oklahoma; Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great- grandchildren. A brother-in-law, Al Edgemon of California;
Also by a host of friends and beloved church family.
Viewing for Betty will be from 5 -8pm, Tuesday, July 29th, 2025 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be, Mike Foster, Kevin Westmoreland, Eric Jensen, Rusty Davis, Bryan Dudley and Marshall Andrews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Morris Cemetery under direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
