Ronnie Brison, a lifelong resident of the Dewar and Henryetta area, passed from this life on August 5, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on January 31, 1949, in rural Henryetta to Floyd and Ethel (Huff) Brison, Ronnie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community. On June 18, 1971, he married the love of his life, Dawni Snider, in Henryetta. Together, they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and were devoted members of Dewar First Baptist Church, where Ronnie served faithfully as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
A dedicated supporter of local youth, Ronnie was an active member of the Dewar Booster Club and was a familiar face at school sporting events — often seen running the clock for basketball and baseball games. He also served as a board member for the North Canadian Baptist Association, helping guide ministry and outreach efforts in the region.
Known affectionately by many as “Big Ronnie,” he spent years operating a home appliance repair business, earning a reputation for honesty, skill, and friendly service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ethel Brison; and siblings: Levi Brison, Marlene Brison, Velma Britt, Raymond Brison, Robert Brison, Ray Brison, Edna Shepherd, Sue Cooper, and Lillian Philippe.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Dawni Brison of the home; his son, Ronnie Wayne Brison II and wife Amber of Dewar; and his grandsons: Jentry Brison and wife Molli of Henryetta, James Brison of Oklahoma City, and Jeron Brison of Dewar.
Great Grandson: Wyatt Brison
He is also survived by his brother Roy Brison; and sisters Dorothy Brown, Julie Ollis, and Margaret Upshaw; as well as many extended family members, church family, and friends who will deeply miss his wisdom, humor, and servant heart.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Dewar First Baptist Church, with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating and Rev. Mick Snider assisting. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.
